LHC present: Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale
We invite you all to join us as we get into the Christmas spirit with a screening of the fabulous RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE (2010)
When a private mining operation uncovers an anomaly buried deep within the Finnish mountains it doesn’t take long before strange occurrences wreak havoc on the local village. Young Pietari (Onni Tommila ) is convinced that it’s the actions of the fabled supernatural entity referred to locally as Santa Clause, a malevolent creature that punishes and eats children. This theory gains some merit when Pietari’s father Rauno (Jorma Tommila) captures a feral old man that defies the laws of nature.
What happened up at the excavation site, why are all the local children missing and is this really Santa Clause?
Released in 2010 this twist on the traditional Christmas icon became a fan favourite on the horror film festival circuit and marked director Jalmari Helander as ‘one to watch’. With homages to John Carpenter’s The Thing mixed with the wit and charm of classic kid adventures of the 80s, this chilling Christmas romp greatly influenced the sudden growth in Krampus movies and Christmas based horrors.
As always, Uncle Frank Productions have created an awesome movie poster especially for our screening. All event attendees will receive this A3 event poster absolutely free – this will make a gorgeous addition to your collection of LHC poster artwork.
